THIS ISN'T YOUR AVERAGE TRAVEL BLOG.

My name is Jen, and I love exploring the world, drinking coffee, and running. With Jesus.

Like many, I have a serious case of wanderlust. I frequently travel solo, but also with friends and family, and for humanitarian missions. I’ve been to more than 40 countries, and more often than not, I travel while remaining employed  as a nurse. I recently got my Masters of Global Public Health, and hope to put that to good use with my travels in the future as well!

My passion for travel is matched only by my dedication to running (okay… and drinking coffee). I’ve run countless races, half marathons through ultra marathons. I'm pretty dedicated to running even when I’m on the road, with my ultimate goal being to run a marathon on all 7 continents (two down, five to go!). I’m not a fast runner by any means, but I make up for lack of speed with determination.

I believe that faith is an integral part of everything we do in life, and traveling- and running- are no exception.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVE THAT TRAVELING IS AN AMAZING WAY TO STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH.

And that is why I’ve started this blog.  Because I travel with God when I go abroad. Traveling has grown my faith and strengthened my relationship with the Lord, and I hope it does the same for you! It’s not about walking up and down the streets in a different country trying to evangelize at each turn; it’s about reveling in God’s creation, relying on Him for your needs, inviting Him into new experiences and seeing what He has for you in each day.

I want to share my passion for travel and my perspective- especially for those travelers who share similar values and feel a bit out of place with the more hedonistic backpacker crowd.

AND RUNNING? THAT TOO.

Running is hard. Running short, running long; running fast or running slow-it can really be tough. And God is in that too. He is there in the challenges, but also in the joys of running. Not only is the journey experienced in running an amazing parallel to life and faith, but it also show us what we are capable of through God’s strength.

TO SUM IT UP:

One of my favorite books, Love Does, puts it this way:

“Every day God invites us on the same kind of adventure. It’s not a trip where He sends us a rigid itinerary, He simply invites us. God asks what it is He’s made us to love, what it is that captures our attention, what feeds that deep indescribable need of our souls to experience the richness of the world He made. And then, leaning over us, He whispers, “Let’s go do that together.” – Bob Goff
